A ultrasonic drilling monitor, refers to a set of tools, instruments, and technologies used to measure and analyze various parameters during the pile foundation construction. The goal is to guide the optimization of construction process equipment and methods to save costs, to guide the correction of unqualified holes and grooves, and to improve the success rate and efficiency of piles and walls.
It can detect four parameters: hole depth/trough depth, hole diameter/trough width, pile hole/trough wall verticality, and sediment thickness of bored piles and underground diaphragm walls.
What parts does a ultrasonic drilling monitor consist of?
Based on our TS-K100DC(B), there are totally 4 parts:
Synchronous printing host control box
Multifunctional cable winch
Probe lifting CNC winch
Multifunctional integrated probe
How does the ultrasonic drilling monitor work?
The ultrasonic probe descends from the orifice at a constant speed under the control of the lifting device. The depth measuring device measures the depth of the probe and transmits it to the host. The host controls the ultrasonic transmitting probe to emit ultrasonic waves according to the set time interval and starts the timing synchronously. The host sets the The sampling delay and sampling rate start the high-speed and high-precision signal collector to collect ultrasonic signals.
Since the acoustic impedance of the mud is much smaller than the acoustic impedance of the soil (or rock) medium, the ultrasonic wave is almost completely reflected from the hole wall. The reflected wave is received by the receiving transducer after propagating through the mud. The time when the reflected wave arrives is the time when the ultrasonic wave reaches the hole. The propagation time in the inner mud is used to calculate the distance between the ultrasonic transducer and the hole wall, thereby calculating the aperture value and verticality of the section.
The ultrasonic velocity is obtained through orifice calibration or set by empirical values.

Low maintenance cost.
Non-destructive testing: The ultrasonic drilling monitor can perform testing without damaging the pile foundation structure, avoiding the damage to the structure caused by traditional destructive testing methods.
High-precision measurement: By accurately measuring the time and amplitude of the reflected wave, high-precision measurement results can be obtained and the hole-forming quality can be accurately evaluated.
Fast and efficient: The borescope can quickly complete inspection tasks and improve construction efficiency.
Precautions when using the ultrasonic drilling monitor
Ensure that the probe and sensor are installed correctly: The probe and sensor are key components of the pile foundation hole detector and must be installed correctly to ensure the accuracy of the detection results. During installation, the instructions or operating instructions should be followed to ensure that the probes and sensors correspond to the positions of the casing and piles.
Pay attention to the protection of cables and connectors: The cables and connectors of the pile foundation hole detector are wearing parts and require special protection. During operation, avoid bending, squeezing, stretching, etc. of the cable to avoid damage. At the same time, you should regularly check whether the connection of cables and connectors is firm. If there is any looseness or damage, you should deal with it in time.
Make sure the instrument is well grounded: The pile foundation hole detector needs to be grounded during use. Ensure that the ground wire is well connected to avoid instrument damage or inaccurate test results caused by poor grounding.
Pay attention to operating safety: When operating the pile foundation hole detector, you should pay attention to safety. During the operation, the instructions or operating guidelines should be strictly followed to avoid misoperation that may cause damage to the instrument or inaccurate test results.
Regular maintenance and upkeep: The pile foundation hole formation detector requires regular maintenance and upkeep. Dust and debris on the probe and sensor should be cleaned regularly to ensure normal operation. At the same time, the wear of cables and connectors should be checked regularly and worn parts should be replaced in time.
Operate in strict accordance with industry standards: When using the pile foundation hole detector, it should be operated in strict accordance with industry standards and specifications. This ensures the accuracy and reliability of test results.
